This cabinet is a modular system consisting of aerated concrete blocks meant for the building industry. Hand sculpted and painted, the designer adds a unique character to the material, shifting its identity from an industrial building material to biophilic shapes.
Maarten Diederix
Maarten is an artist and architect based in Rotterdam. In his works he interprets shapes and forms found in the natural environment using industrial materials and techniques meant for mass production. The aim is to create art that blurs the line between natural beauty and industrial precision.
