This collaboration brings the enticing 2D dreamworld of Sven Jansse alive in the physical and tactile realm in which Somé Studio works. Combinations of shades of blue create a tactility and depth that are supposed to stimulate the viewer to take a longer and closer look.
Studio Somé
Robyne Somé was trained as an architect, but started Studio Somé to explore an artistic urge. Through the lens of her multi-cultural background she is continuously creating expressions of light, colors and textures. The result is a fusion of West-African symbolism and Western techniques.
Sven Jansse
Originally trained as an architect, Rotterdam based designer Sven Jansse investigates the tension between spatial characteristics, their visual representation and the human interpretation by visualizing slightly surreal architectural scenes that strongly draw inspiration from our everyday built environment.
Through constructing fantastical spaces and fictional narratives, Jansse pays a tribute to our imagination: the work explores the possibilities of architecture, but also celebrates the unexpected and the unknown by functioning as a mediator between reality and a parallel universe.
